See how your digital video is behaving, whether it’s in real time or off line.
Our API library includes a multi-function Waveform Monitor, a Vectorscope, a Histogram function and an RGB/YUV parade function in both SD and HD color spaces.
A HomeDVD video test Suite SDK
Now you can easily integrate a set of software based test tools into your video application to ensure your video levels, color balance, saturation and luminance distribution is where you want them to be.
These video test instruments have been a real boon to our film to HD video imaging system development. Knowing the video properties of the converted film frames as they were captured live ensure that the final output YUV video files are well within specification for proper AVCHD, H.264, MP4 and MPEG-2 post production work. We are now making these video functions available to the public.
Our API library offers operation in both standard definition (SD) and high definition HD) color spaces, enables auto window scaling, can do multiple instances of itself, auto sampling/decimating along with many other features.
The current release will support both file based uncompressed 24bit RGB bitmaps and pointer to an array of RGB values as an input source. Live video streaming using containers like AVI is not supported.
Supplying either live image sequences in real-time or re-calling stored image sequences for off-line post work, these video test functions will do work for you.
Development Environment
Windows VB.NET only – C, C# and C++ support in next revision
Minimum System Requirements
Windows platform running XP, XP Pro only. (Vista* and Windows 7* under test)
P4 2.8GHz or better, 2GB RAM
OpenGL supported graphics card, Release 1.0 or higher
DVD ROM player
The Software Development Kit (SDK) comes with a series of library functions in DLL form and a Developers Users Guide. The guide will contain information on the video instruments along with sample code descriptions.
Important Note:
There is no support for this product other than pre-sales consultation. It is expected when using any SDK in general the developer is already familiar with software development environments, the technical subject and coding principles. The included users and developers guide has all the information needed to yield a successful integration. These software tools are no different. Follow the examples, the sample code, the install and distribution suggestions in the developers guide.
* We haven’t tested the compiled software on all Windows operating systems, particularly 64 bit. We do not expect problems as there are no driver and DLL dependencies anywhere, other than the OpenGL drivers that come with all display cards these days. Early testing on 64bit systems show some problems. We will address at a later date.
OpenGL v1.0 or later is all that is needed. The video instruments are coded in pure C code with basic Windows headers. The test application and test images available as a download below will show how this suite of tools work.
